第15期斯坦福北大分校项目(Stanford Program in Beijing)将于今年9月下旬在我校开课，12月上旬结业。为促进我校中国学生与斯坦福学生的了解、交流和学习，现遴选部分品学兼优的同学参加斯坦福大学孙朝奋（Sun Chaofen）教授为本期项目开设的课程：Chinese Language, Culture and Society。

        上课时间在每周三上午9:00-11:30，课程简介如下：
        Introduction: This is a course introducing to students various aspects of the Chinese languages relating to Chinese culture and society. Each lecture will be followed by class discussion on the materials covered in the lecture. This will give students an opportunity to raise questions and to talk about various issues of interest. All students are expected to actively participate in class discussions.
        Schedule:
        Week 1 Introduction
        Week 2 Guest speaker: Prof. Li Yuning (director of State Language Planning Committee)
        Week 3 The Sounds of Chinese languages
        Week 4 Guest speaker: Prof. Sun Hongkai (University of Chinese Minorities)
        Week 5 Chinese word formation
        Week 6 Chinese script
        Week 7 Chinese language and culture
        Week 8 Chinese language and culture
        Week 9 Guest speaker: Prof. Liu Danqing (Institute of Linguistics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences)
        Week 10 Chinese syntax
        Week 11 Review and Take-home final

        完成课程学习任务的同学，在项目结业时将得到斯坦福方面出具的证书。

        申请条件：
        一、北京大学正式注册在校中国学生；
        二、对跨文化交流有浓厚兴趣；
        三、能用英语与美国师生顺畅交流，有用英文完成考试、论文的能力；
        四、自觉遵守各项纪律，保证完成课程任务。
