Peru Fashion Show
The elaborately decorated clothes from Peru will light your day.
The Palla (female) and Varayoc (male) are the traditional costumes of Peruvian culture. It is said that the word “Palla” dated back to the Inca era, and it means “married princess”. In the Miss World Competition in 1982, Palla was recognized as “the best traditional ceremonial dress”. As for Varayoc, it means “the man with power”, and it was also the title of the chief in Peruvian tribe.
Korea Culture Exposition
A series of diverse and unique shows that will help you to understand the culture of South Korea thoroughly. When you first arrived at their station, you will be captivated by the traditional Korean game named as “Touhu” immediately. “The objective of this game is to cast the arrow into a vine which is placed at a certain distance from the player” the rule says. When interviewed, a participant told us that “It’s difficult but fun, and worth-trying”,
Inside the station, pictures of mouthwatering food fill your sight. A volunteer introduces us to their gourmet section of the exhibition. There is a man-made map which showcased the various location where you can find some of the famous and traditional Korean restaurants around PKU.
Also in the Korean station is a group of Korean students wearing their traditional costumes. Visitors are allowed to try the costumes as well, which attract many visitors.
Iceland Station
A beauty that will catch your eyes. Before the opening ceremony, you might catch a glimpse of a beautiful, tall girl running across the center square. She is Anna from Iceland. While there are a lot of decorations at this booth, it is nonetheless still crowded with visitors. Her beauty and warm smile are part of the reason, and the design of the booth is also very eye-catching. The theme covers from stunning natural views including the volcanos to “10 strange things about Iceland”. She said it took her two whole days to prepare the show, and she stayed up until 2 in the morning last night just to complete it.
