The dance presented by Dominican students was powerful and emotive. Malaysian students sang “Melody of Malaysia”, with their soft voices affecting the audience deeply. Russian students put on an elegant dance, and there was a country music performance put up by American students. North Korean students belted out songs that highlighted their love for family and country, while Japanese students put on an innovative dance that centered on the character Mario, invoking memories of our own childhood. Brazilian students, through their showcase of Capoeira (a Brazilian martial art), brought gasps from the wowed audience. There were also performances put up by clubs and societies in PKU, including PKU Drum Circle, PKU Acappella Club, PKU Hip-Hop Club and PKU Chinese Music Institute.
