At current, Peking University campus cards can be used to borrow library books, buy food and beverage from campus cafeterias, make purchases at on-campus supermarkets, make online payments, and keep track of attendance. The campus card contains personal information and consumption data. When using your card to purchase food, you just put it near a scanner’s reading area, and the correct amount will be deducted from your card.
Entering Campus
Please show the safeguard your campus card when entering campus.
Consumption Password
When your campus card consumption reaches certain amount, the consumption password is needed. The consumption password is the last six digits of your passport number. However, if there is an English letter among the last six places, the password will be 888888. If the last place of your passport number is an English letter, the password will be the six digits before the letter. Passwords can be modified on the campus card POS machine or at the Campus Card Center.
Borrowing Books
When entering the library, you need to swipe your campus card on the turnstile before you are admitted entry.
Visiting students need to activate the campus card at the Library’s Card Office when entering the library for the first time.
When using your campus card to borrow or return books, you can give your card to the staff member, or just put it on the reader directly.
Consumption
Campus cards can be used in all campus cafeterias. When using the card, wait for the staff to input the correct amount, then place your card on the reading area, and wait for the “beep”. The “beep” means that the amount has been successfully deducted. The screen will then show your card’s balance. If you hear continuous beeps, that means the consumption is unsuccessful. In that case, your card may have an insufficient balance, have been damaged or suspended. Please visit the Campus Card Center at your earliest convenience.
For your consumption security, 30 RMB is the limit for each meal. Your consumption password is requested if the limit is exceeded.
Paying Internet Fees
Peking University’s Computer Center creates new internet account for all freshmen. The user name is your student ID number and the login password is your date of birth (yyyymmdd).Visithttps://its.pku.edu.cn/, login your student ID number and the password, click “网费充值” on the top right corner of the page, and follow the instructions to pay the internet fee.
Loss of Campus Card
If in any case you lose your campus card, you must lock the card as soon as possible. To lock the campus card, you could either visit the Campus Card Center in person or visit the Center's website(http://card.pku.edu.cn) to complete the procedures.
If luckily your campus card is found later, you can unlock your card at the Campus Card Center in person with your Certificate of Enrollment.
Charging Campus Card
You may charge your campus card at the Campus Card Center or on the WeChat. Find the Center's official account ‘PKUCampusCard’on the WeChat, click ‘智慧校园’,and then follow the instruction on charge the campus card.
Replacement of Campus Card
If the campus card has been lost or is damaged, you have to pay 40RMB for the new card.
