The International Students Division (ISD) organizes cultural events, trips and tours around the city for international students. Information regarding these events will be published on the ISD website (www.isd.pku.edu.cn) under the "Notice", and a myriad of activities including performances, exhibits, lectures, and other activities can also be found under "EVENTS". In addition, schools/departments also offer their own extracurricular activities, and we highly recommend you to pay attention to these notices and we also encourage you to participate in these activities.
Students are also encouraged to join clubs and associations such as the cultural performance club, dance club, athletic clubs, choir, orchestra and other student organizations.
Sports and Recreation Centers
The university provides its students with facilities for sports and recreation. Some facilities charge certain fee for usage.
• May 4th Playground: Southeast of Peking University (jogging, basketball, badminton, football, etc.)
• PKU Gymnasium: East of Peking University (recreation, badminton,swimming, basketball, etc.)
• Gymnasium No.1: East side of Wei Ming Lake (rock climbing, football, etc.)
• Gymnasium No. 2: South side of Jing Yuan (tennis, basketball, etc.)
• Kang Mei Le Recreation Center: B1, Computer Service Center
• Kang Le Recreation Center: B1, Building 4, Zhongguanyuan Global Village
Please remember to take care of these facilities and equipment and do not interrupt school activities, classes, and other activities that may occur at these venues.
International Center
The International Center is located on the second floor of Building No.5, Zhongguanyuan Global Village. In the center there are numerous Chinese and English books introducing Chinese history, culture and society, including books donated by PKU international alumni. There are also separate rooms for group discussion and self-study as well as a conference room which may hold 60-70 people. To reserve the conference room or discussion rooms, please submit a written application at least one week before to the International Students Division.
