1. Students are advised to consult with their healthcare practitioner in their home country about relevant travel vaccinations and health precautions prior to entering China. Please notify them of your detailed travel plans to Beijing and other destinations abroad. It is strongly recommended that students bring with them any needed prescription medication, as prescription refills might be difficult to obtain here.
2. Beijing is a relatively safe city to live in, and Peking University is a well-guarded campus. Nevertheless, we suggest that students take the following safety precautions. Please make sure your passport and valuables are stored in a secure and locked place; it is not advisable for students to carry their passport and large sums of money with them under normal circumstances. Your student ID card and a photocopy of your passport will be sufficient to verify your identity. Please make sure all water and electrical appliances are turned off, and windows are properly closed, prior to leaving your accommodation. Please remember to abide by traffic rules and pay attention to traffic safety.
3. In the case of an emergency, please contact the police immediately and report the incident to the International Students Division. We will do our best to help you and resolve the issue.
