I found attending the Chinese Summer Program at PKU a very rewarding experience. There was a class to accommodate students of all levels, and the passionate teachers made the 4 hours of Chinese each morning breeze. The work load was sufficient in that my progress was noticeable yet there was enough free time to socialize with other like-minded students participating in the program. The program gave me a taste of what it is like to study at PKU, which has led to my decision to return and continue my studies there during the New Year.
