ACTIVITY | VISIT THE LAMA TEMPLE & IMPERIAL ACADEMY

雍和宫（The Lama Temple）位于北京市区东北角，清康熙三十三年（1694年），康熙帝在此建造府邸、赐予四子雍亲王，称雍亲王府。雍和宫是清朝中后期全国规格最高的一座佛教寺院。

北京国子监（the Imperial Academy）始建于元朝大德十年（公元1306年），是中国元、明、清三代国家管理教育的最高行政机关和国家设立的最高学府。

北京大学将于9月23日组织留学生同学参观雍和宫和国子监，名额有限，额满为止。

The Lama Temple ( Yonghegong ) is a famous lamasery located in the northeastern part of the old city of Beijing. It was a palatial residence built in 1694 by Qing Emperor Kangxi for his fourth son, Prince Yongzheng who later succeeded to the throne.

Beijing Imperial Academy ( Guozijian ), also translated as Beijing Imperial College, was first established in 1306. It served as the supreme administrative headquarters for the organization of education and the highest seat of learning during the Yuan(1271-1368), Ming(1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.

Peking University will arrange the visit to the Lama Temple and the Imperial Academy for international students on the afternoon of Sep. 23, 2017.
