Chinese Government Scholarship-Chinese University Program, Peking University Scholarship (PKUS), Beijing Government Scholarship (BGS)
In order to support more outstanding international students to study a B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees at Peking University, international students who are applying for admission to PKU may apply for scholarship support from the International Students Division of Peking University. There are three kinds of scholarships currently available: The Chinese Government Scholarship – Chinese University Program (CGS); the Peking University Scholarship (PKUS), and the Beijing Government Scholarship (BGS). The Chinese Government Scholarship was founded by the Ministry of Education of China in 2008. The Peking University Scholarship (PKUS) was established by Peking University in 2012. The scholarship is categorized into two categories: full and partial scholarships. The Beijing Government Scholarship (BGS) was established by the Beijing Municipal Government in 2006, which covers tuition fees.

Scholarship covers and criteria |
• Covers full tuition fees for Chinese-instructed programs; For English-instructed programs, the amount of tuition covered by the scholarship is 30000 CNY/academic year;
• Living Allowance (Master’s students: 3000 CNY/month; Ph.D. students: 3500 CNY/month);
• Free accommodation (single rooms for Ph.D. candidates and twin rooms for Masters’ students)
• Chinese Government Scholarship students will be provided comprehensive medical insurance |
1. Full scholarship:

undergraduate: 2000 CNY/per month;
Master: 2500 CNY/per month;
Ph.D.: 3000 CNY/per month

Required Application Materials |
1.Visit the PKU Online Application System (http://www.studyatpku.com), click “Scholarship Application”-“New student”, fill in the application form and submit;
2. Please submit in person or express following materials before the deadline:
1) “Scholarship Application Form” with your signature and one photograph on it; |
2) “Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship” (in Chinese or English, original). Applicants should visit http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn and submit the application online, and then print out two copies of the form. Please affix your photograph on both copies. The application will be invalid without online application.

3) A copy of the applicant's highest academic degree. If the degree is not in Chinese or English, it must be translated to English. (Students that have yet to graduate can provide proof of their expected graduation date.)

- Students who intend to apply for Chinese Government Scholarship, please submit the “Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form” (two copies of the form).and a notarized copy of the applicant's highest academic degree. and One photocopy of your valid passport. Applications with incomplete materials will not be processed;
2. Applicants who failed to receive the Chinese Government Scholarship can apply for the other two scholarships automatically. Applicants are not required to resubmit their applications for the other scholarships.
3. Applicants can only receive one scholarship at a time.
4. The application materials must be authentic and valid. Applicants found to have submitted false documents will be automatically disqualified for any scholarships. If the applicant has been found to have breached other rules, the applicant may also be rejected as a student from Peking University.
5. Application materials will not be returned;
6. The final admission results of the scholarship applications will be posted on the International Students Division website (in July).
* If any dispute arises concerning the contents mentioned above, the Chinese interpretation shall prevail.
