Information for Chinese Government Scholarship Holders applying for Peking University
(For Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degree programs)
※ This program is exclusively available to the holders of the Award Letter for Chinese Government Scholarship

In accordance with the Ministry of Education’s new policy, applicants approved by their local Chinese embassy or consulate will receive an "Award Letter for Chinese Government Scholarship". The applicant can then provide the Award Letter and other required documents as part of their application process to Peking University (“PKU”).

If you are awarded the Chinese Government Scholarship, please follow the instructions below to apply to Peking University:
Please visit http://www.studyatpku.com, fill in online application form, upload the application documents, and submit your application. Then print a hard copy of the application and attach a photo to it.
Notes: Please choose the "ONLINE APPLICATION" field. When choosing your student category, please choose either bachelor's, master's, or doctorate in the "Degree Programs Application" field. Then, select “Chinese Government Scholarship Holder” respectively.

Application Materials :
1) The Award Letter for Chinese Government Scholarship. (Photocopies are acceptable)
2) A printed copy of the online application to Peking University with a passport photo attached.
3) Graduation certificate, degree, or diploma

Bachelor’s Program: Senior high school graduation diploma (Students expecting to graduate should provide an official letter stating expected graduation date, and submit the graduation diploma if admitted), which must be original documents or certified (notarized) copies in Chinese or English.

Master’s Program: Graduation certificate of Bachelor’s program and Bachelor’s degree diploma (Students expecting to graduate should provide an official letter stating expected graduation date), which must be original documents or certified (notarized) copies either in Chinese or English.

Doctorate Program: Graduation certificate of Bachelor’s and Master’s programs, Bachelor’s and Master’s degree diplomas (Students expecting to graduate should provide an official letter stating expected graduation date), which must be original documents or certified (notarized) copies either in Chinese or English.

4) Official transcripts of your academic achievement up to the present.
The transcripts must be original documents or certified (notarized) copies in Chinese or English.

Bachelor’s program: Official transcripts of your academic achievement up to the present, including courses taken and standard achieved, must be original documents or certified (notarized) copies in Chinese or English.

Master’s Program: Official transcripts of your academic achievement of Bachelor’s program, including courses taken and standard achieved, must be original documents or certified (notarized) copies either in Chinese or English.
Doctorate Program: Official transcripts of your academic achievement of Bachelor’s and Master’s programs, including courses taken and standard achieved, must be original documents or certified (notarized) copies either in Chinese or English.

5) Two recommendation letters from your referees. The referees should be professors or persons with relevant academic title. Senior High School students should submit one recommendation letter from their senior high schools. (The recommendation letters must be original documents either in Chinese or English).
6) A personal statement. (No less than 1000 words).
7) One photocopy of your valid passport ID page. (Passport type must be ordinary).
8) Chinese language proficiency certificate. (If you do not have a HSK score, please state the duration of your Chinese language studies and your current Chinese language proficiency)
9) If you have a letter, email, or some other kind of document of support from a Peking University professor, please provide it.
10) Table of contents and abstracts of your academic publications and any other original achievement in your field.

Notes:
Applicants must provide two sets of all application materials: One set of materials are the original (including notarized/certified) documents and the other set of materials are the photocopies.
Numbers 8, 9 and 10 of the list above are optional.
The application materials will not be returned.

Application Period:
From Mar. 8th to Apr. 20th, 2017.
Please complete the online application before the Apr. 20th, 2017; please mail all required application documents to the Peking University International Students Division to make sure that they arrive before Apr. 25th, 2017. Any applications received after this date will not be considered. Please write “Application for Pre-admission Letter”(“预录取证明申请”)on the post.

Admission Information:
1) In principle, PKU will review the application within 14 working days, and if the application is approved, the applicant will be notified of their pre-admission approval.
2) The proof of pre-admission will be emailed to the applicant; so it is critical that you write your working email address in your application.
3) The pre-admitted student will need to provide the proof of pre-admission and other application materials to the Chinese embassy or consulate .
