Additional Stipend Disbursement for China Government Scholarship

According to the new regulations by the People’s Republic of China (PRC) Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Education, the China Government Scholarship (CGS) will no longer provide any textbook allowance, medical subsidy, or settling-in allowance, effective September, 2014.

The new monthly stipend is as follows:

Category Monthly Stipend(RMB/ MTH)
Undergraduate 2500 RMB
Masters and General Visiting Students 3000 RMB
Ph.D. and Senior Visiting Students 3500 RMB

The International Students Office will disburse the additional stipend amount to all CGS scholars from September, 2014 to March, 2015. Please bring along your student ID card and register in-person at the International Students Office from April 13th, 2015 to April16th, 2015. The office is located at the New Sun Student Center, Room 329, from 8:30-11:30 or 13:30-17:00. If you fail to register during this period, you will not receive the additional stipend amount. Registration during this period will also count as signing in for next month’s allowance.

The additional stipend amount to be disbursed is as follows:

Category Amount(2014.9-2015.3)
Undergraduate 7700 RMB
Masters and General Visiting Students 9100 RMB
Ph.D. and Senior Visiting Students 10500 RMB

The additional stipend amount will be transferred to your Bank of China account on April 25th, 2015.

Should students require any medical subsidy, please call the 24h hotline 4008105119-1, or log on to www.lxbx.net for more information. The school will no longer be responsible for reimbursement of any medical expenditure.

The monthly stipend for students in the following programs is unchanged; hence there will be no need to register at the International Students Office:

• Master Program in Public Policy for Developing Countries
• High- level Master’s program
• Sime Darby Foundation Students Exchange Scholarship Programme
• British Council Study in China Scholarship
• Huawei Scholarship
