1. Criteria and Eligibility:
(1) Applicants must be American citizens of sound health；
(2) Already admitted as a graduate student at Peking University in academic year of 2013-2014 and will pursue an academic Master/PhD degree.
(3) For prospective master students, age must not exceed 35; for prospective doctoral students, age must not exceed 40;
(4) Receiving no other scholarship funds;
(5) Must not be either seeking a professional degree, a Joint Degree program or majoring in his/her native language or a third language (students who will be enrolled in these programs are not eligible to apply for this scholarship).
2. Value of the Scholarship:
(1) Exempt from registration fees and tuition (the tuition fee of English-taught programs is not exempted);
(2) Living stipend and fee for basic learning materials are provided;
(3) Free on-campus accommodation;
(4) A one-off subsidy for settlement is provided;
(5) Outpatient medical service and Comprehensive Medical Insurance for International Students is provided.
Note: the scholarship period is fixed at the time of admission and could not be extended.
3. Required Application Materials and Deadline
(1) Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (in Chinese or English)
Applicants should visit http://laihua.csc.edu.cn and submit the application online, then print out two copies of the form.

(2) Notarized photocopies of highest diploma and graduate certificate attached with English translations.
(3) Statement of not receiving other scholarship funds ( incentive award like full attendance award and excellent performance award not included)

Please submit all the required application materials to the PKU International Students Division (Room 110, Shao Yuan Building 3) from March 28 to April 19, 2013.
Note: Students who do not know the admission results yet may also submit application for the scholarship.
4. Others
(1) Scholarship students must take the annual evaluation;
(2) Scholarship students in principle could not change their major or study period.
(3) Applications with incomplete materials will not be considered.
(4) Application materials will not be returned.
