1) According to the announcement of China Scholarship Council, the extension of the Chinese government Scholarship is only applicable for doctoral students who have just graduated and are Chinese Government Scholarship holders: The duration of the professional study period shall not exceed 5 years.
2) Applicants should fill in the "Application Form for Extension of Chinese Government Scholarship《中国政府奖学金延长奖学金期限申请表》”. The application form can be downloaded from here, The length of the extension period must be specified and the reason for the extension must be clearly stated in "The reason for extending expiring date of scholarship" section, January 2020 or July 2020.
3) If the applicant has been awarded the Chinese Government Scholarship via a Chinese embassy or consulate in his/her home country, the application for the scholarship extension should be accompanied by a letter of consent from the embassy or consulate. Those who were awarded the Chinese Government Scholarship directly from Peking University do not need to submit a letter of consent from the embassy or consulate.
4) In order to apply for the extension of the Chinese Government Scholarship, the applicant will first need to extend his/her enrollment in their department/school.
5) In order to apply for an extension, PhD students must first complete the comprehensive examination and complete the thesis proposal.
6) In order to apply for the extension of the term of Chinese government scholarship, the applicant needs to participate in and pass the annual assessment before the application.
Please submit the "Application Form for Extension of Chinese Government Scholarship 《中国政府奖学金延长奖学金期限申请表》" and the "China Scholarship Council Form for Annual Review of Chinese Government Scholarship Status 《中国政府奖学金年度评审表》 " and the "Annual Evaluation of Chinese Government Scholarship Annual Evaluation Form for Departments 《中国政府奖学金院系评审表》 together with the transcript to the International Student Division (Room 328 in the New Sun Student Center) before April 24, 2019.
