Eligibility requirements

1.According to the notice of the China Scholarship Council, this extension is in principle for Ph.D. students who originally planned to graduate in July 2024（Including expected graduation in January 2025）but intend to apply for an extension of the scholarship. The total study duration of the applicant shall not exceed 5 years;

2.The applicant must have completed their student status extension at their respective department/school;

3.The applicant is required to have passed their comprehensive examination and complete their thesis proposal;

4.The applicant is required to have passed the Chinese Government Scholarship annual evaluation.

Application Procedure

The Chinese Government Scholarship for Ph.D. students can only apply for an extension once during their study period. Application Form are requested to be submitted to Room 328 of the International Students Division before April 25, 2024 (except weekends). Late submissions will not be accepted.
